When the body breaks a substance called purine, a chemical called uric acid is formed. Purine is usually produced naturally in the body and is also found in certain foods such as peas, dried beans, mackerel, liver, beer etc. Most uric acid dissolves in the blood and enters the urine.

If your blood has high levels of uric acid, it means that it is not excreted in the urine. This causes the body to increase its volume. It can be severe, if it is not treated in time. High levels of uric acid in the blood are called hyperuricemia. High levels of uric acid are also linked with gout. Gout is a form of arthritis, which causes inflammation of the joints, especially in the legs and toes. Uric acid tests are used to diagnose gout, kidney function, kidney stone or kidney disorders.

There are three most common symptoms of high uric acid levels in the body: –

1. Symptoms in the joints

Too much uric acid in the body causes joint symptoms such as gout, including pain on touch, swelling, redness and tenderness.

One of the most common areas affected by gout, is the big finger of the foot. It may affect the heel, ankles, knees, fingers, wrists and elbows.

A balanced diet is a must eat that includes all essential nutrients such as carbohydrates, proteins, good and healthy fatty acids, vitamins and minerals. 1. Fiber

5. Cucumber and carrot

Avoiding difficult foods

  • Game meats: pheasant, veal and Wayne
  • Fish: herring, trout, mackerel, tuna, sardines, anchovies, Haddock
  • Other sea food: scallops, crab, shrimp and weeping

  • Yeast: nutritive yeast, distilled yeast
